I've spent most of my life with my hands and some form of art. I can trace it all the way back to elementary school, where a teacher told my mother, "the only way to get his attention is to hold up something with color. He's an artist."

Over the years, the art path is taking me to some remarkable places, New Orleans LA, Aspen, and Snowmas CO, Dallas TX, Memphis TN, Atlanta GA, and  Florence, Italy.

Like most artists I have taken on a different kinds of work along the way. For a short time, I created a few pieces for the movie industry, worked under someone else's direction, shown in just a few seconds on screen. But my heart has always belonged to creating freely.

Stonecarving was where I found that freedom working for myself with no one else's design, but my own I was able to let my imagination take over completely. Nothing in the world of art excites me more than looking at Stone and trying to see what's inside. You may see my work on display in the sculpture section of this website.

Years ago, I had to step away from carving Stone, not by choice, but by necessity. Now I have turned my focus to portrait painting. What I found is that the heart of the work hasn't changed. Whether it's Stone or canvas, what matters most is capturing the spirit of a person or a pet, often in a way that surprises clients and exceeds their expectation.

The moments that stay with me when completed is when someone sees the finish piece, pauses, and I noticed tears in their eyes.  Those are the memories and moments that I carry with me.

After more than 50 years of creating, I still approach each piece with the same way, with care, respect, and a genuine desire to get it right. If you choose to work with me know that each Painting receives my full attention. I work on one piece at a time giving it everything I have. My greatest challenge is often knowing when to stop. I could continue refining details until the paint runs out.

I always enjoy involving my clients in the process, inviting their thoughts or how they want the Painting to look, after all as I often say, "it doesn't matter to me, it's not going to hang on my wall."

But my best work is when a client trust me to use my own judgment,  bringing my creativity to life in a way that truly pleases us both.
